CLASSES BEGIN OCTOBER 27!
INTRODUCTION TO ACTING IN MUSICAL THEATER- PETER PAN Everyone loves Peter Pan! After all it has everything from pirates to fairies! This is a familiar story that children will love acting out and singing out! Music, choreopgraphy, acting, and crafts!
TEACHER: Renee Johnson
(Class choices may be subject to change.)
DRAMA IN CHRISTIAN MINISTRY: This acting class will focus on techniques, method acting as well as researching period life and times of characters and costumes to bring the Gospel message to life on stage.
TEACHER: Jan Cromer
ENGLISH COUNTRY DANCING - Have you ever seen Pride and Predjudice? Sense and Sensibility? Emma? All these period movies go back to a time of social graces and social dances. The dances have recently become very popular with our CYT cast so we will hold these workshops to learn some of the more complex dances.
ZUMBA-STYLE FITNESS DANCING - Dancing that makes us feel good is also good for our bodies. Dancing, experts say, burns calories, boosts energy, improves circulation and tones muscle--which leads to increased strength, endurance and flexibility. In fact, dancing can help with memory, posture, coordination, relieve stress and improve mood. The best part is it a great outlet for creativity and in CYT we are always looking to find ways to get out of the box and be creative!
ACTING: NEVER BE FOILED AGAIN! Boo the villain! Cheer the hero! Sigh as the heroine enters...it's melodrama! Class includes: how to warm up your audience, how to introduce major characters, and how the characters look and move. Even music that accompanies their movement will be covered. Lighting., sound, porps and makeup are all important to melodrama.
CAMP ROCK! - Musical theater skills will be taught by taking scenes, music and dance from Disney's movie Camp Rock.
